TBS is the only channel added this morning that still looks like SD on my TV. The channel has been renamed to TBDHD but I don't see the HD yet.

Is there a problem?

Given the programming that is on TBS, how much of it was actually shot in HD? Seems that with the majority of their programs, all will probably be in SD (except the sports) IMO. Hope I'm wrong.

IMHO, TBS in HD is mostly going to be for sports, and it is great that it is up before the baseball playoffs (which move to TBS this year). Other than that, this is a rerun channel with most of the shows taped long before HD was invented. However the MGM, UA, and Warner movie vaults are full of filmed movies, and film can be shown in HD easily.

Not only is it only stretched SD. It's really horrible quality SD. I wonder if it's all going to be as awful PQ on the channel as the current program, Saved By The Bell?

Now that would be sweet - lets hope they clean it up for HD better than they did for the DVD, which while still wonderful to own just didn't have the greatest PQ in the world.

Edited because what I wrote applies to TNTHD, not TBSHD (had to do with guide listings showing HD when a show really isn't HD).

At least TNT HD's picture quality is better. I was hoping TBS HD would be at least as good. I watch a lot of the rerun shows after work. I've been waiting for this one. Honestly, it looks no better than it did yesterday.

the Braves only game on TBS the rest of the year will be on Sunday @ 2:00pm. We'll atleast get to see some HD baseball on the channel before the playoffs.

The only thing I've seen in HD on the OTA TBS broadcast signal here in Atlanta is Braves coverage. I'd presume that sports will be it for now. None of the movies are in HD presently.

Doesn't TBS show reruns of "King of Queens"? They are in HD on network TV.

I was under the Impression that their original shows (Tyler Perry, My Boys) were shot in HD, and they'd be able to show their reruns of shows that were shot in HD (The Office, later seasons of Everybody Loves Raymond and such).

Anyone in Atl getting the channel? Is it on 17 or 247?

Slingbox doesn't connect at work, so I can't check mine.

Ditto the Stretch-o-Vision comments. Why do they think that we prefer a stretched image over pillar boxes. Sure, I guess a lot of the unwashed masses don't understand it, but at least I can switch over to the SD version for the Original Aspect Ratio.
