Programing dish remote

I have a 522. Just bought a new TV (Magnavox). How do I program the dish remote to work with the new TV? I've tried the autoscan process that is on Dish's FAQ page, but it didn't work.

Thanks on advance.

Try this:

Turn on the TV set.

Press and hold the TV mode button on the remote until all the mode buttons light up then let go of the TV button. The TV Mode button will flash.
For Magnavox / Sylvania / Phillips
press any one of the following codes followed by # Then the power button. (the big one on top). If it turns off the TV, you are ready to go. If it doesn't, repeat and use a different number.

505, 506, 509, 510, 512, 520, 525, 536, 566, 567, 568, 573, 610, 651, 652, 654, 655, 656, 659, 660, 663, 664, 665, 666, 669, 673, 676, 698, 671, 673, 677, 700, 718, 723, 724, 729

See ya
Tony

By "combo units", do they mean those with built-in DVD and/or VCR players? If this is the case, this is the first time I've known about this particular incompatibility. Very typical of E* not to support other brand's products, and for the industry not to support Dish products.

Go figure

Sorry cboylan, but had you mentioned that you were trying to program a remote for a combo unit and not a TV in your first post I could have saved you (and me) a lot of time. No, Dish (and most universal remotes) do not control most combo units. The reason is because they do not use normal remote commands. They are generally very specialized.

See ya

Nick - yes it is a TV/dvd/vcr unit

Tony - sorry about that. Was focusing on the TV part and just wasn't thinking of the dvd/vcr part. You live and you learn Thanks again for everyones effort.
