Note: Maps do not include temporary HD channels for one-time events (Tennis, Golf, ...).

D10 has 0 open slots and 1 replacement candidate (was Versus HD):
  • TP#6 (0o): Slot 1050 has been open, but frequently used for testing, and may need extra bandwidth (9362) for the Weather channel, therefore will consider it not open.
  • TP#12 (0o,1r): Cinema Slot 1030 could be replaced, was used for Versus HD, not used for part-time HD.
  • TP#14 (0o): While slot 1020 is open, the Cinema HD channels appear to be using the bandwidth during peak periods. Max of 4 slots on this transponder.
D11 has 0 open slots and has possibly 2 replacement candidates (if no more then 24 part-time slots are needed):
  • TP#1 (0o): While slot 1050 is open, the 2 Cinema HD channels appear to be using the bandwidth during peak periods. Max of 4 slots on this transponder.
  • TP#2 (0o): While slot 1050 is open, the 3 Cinema HD channels appear to be using the bandwidth during peak periods. Max of 4 slots on this transponder.
  • TP#4 (0o): While slot 1030 is open, the 3 Cinema HD channels appear to be using the bandwidth during peak periods. Max of 4 slots on this transponder.
  • TP#6 (0o): While slot 1050 is open, the 3 Cinema HD channels appear to be using the bandwidth during peak periods. Max of 4 slots on this transponder.
  • TP#7 (0o,1r): Cinema slot 1040 could be replaced, not yet used for part-time HD.
  • TP#10 (0o): While slot 1050 is open, the 4 Cinema HD channels appear to be using the bandwidth during peak periods. Max of 4 slots on this transponder.
  • TP#11 (0o): While slot 1050 is open, the sports channels appear to be using the bandwidth during peak periods. Max of 4 slots on this transponder.
  • TP#14 (0o,1r): Cinema slot 1010 could be replaced, not yet used for part-time HD.
The peak part-time HD need for Cinema HD was 23 on Sunday 9/27/2009 at 3pm ET. Also need 1 extra for Mix HD

Sixto,
That is a great list, my one question is:
The 206, 209, 245,501, 509 537 and 509 are they MPEG4? I have checked my HR10-250 and while the channels are there, they are not in HD!
Thank you for you reply.

All of those channels were up before D10 went live, they are just remaps of the mpeg2 HD , your receiver sees the old SD mpeg2 channels not the remapped HD . HR10-250 cannot see them because it cannot see the 103b signals from D10.

maybe this info could be copied and placed in a sticky? It's a nice compilation.

Thanks for the sharing the work you did, sixto.

Ken mostly answered ...

206 is a remap of 73 for ESPN. Only available on the H2x & HR2x receivers because they're the only receivers that are capable of having SD & HD mapped to the same channel number.

Same for 209/72 (ESPN2), 245/75 (TNT), 501/70/509 (HBO), and 537/71/543 (Showtime).

They're all in MPEG2 (for now).

Added two notes to 1st post ...

Note-1: The ability to have two channels with the same channel number (one HD & one SD) is a capability of the H20, H21, & HR20 receivers and is not available on any prior HD receiver.

Note-2: The remap of ESPN (73), ESPN2 (72), TNT (75), HBO (70), and Showtime (71) to channels 206, 209, 245, 501, and 537 are the same MPEG2 feeds, and the remapped channels are not visible on the non H2x & HR2x receivers per Note-1 above.

Thinking I might attempt to add the format of each HD channel (720p or 1080i) to the list.

What's the easiest way to figure out the format on an HR20 receiver for every HD channel?

Turn native on, tune the channel and look at the lights on the front panel. Make sure all available resolutions are enabled in setup first tho.

That info for the new channels at least is already on a sticky at the top of the Directv Programming forum.

It is possible that your TV has a input resolution popup display.

Actually the HR10-250 SHOULD see channels 206, 209, 247, 509, and 541. These are MPEG2 and are n the guide on MPEG2 capable HD boxes.

I guess you mean any prior D* receiver - it's been a feature of E* receivers for quite a while and it operates more intuitively over there.

No, it sees all of them in the 70s. It can see the 509 and 541 HBO and Showtime because they are not shared with SD.

The HR10 cannot see two channels on the same number so it sees the SD ones.

Spreadsheet

I put the info in a spreasheet. Tab 1 is by channel number, tab 2 by channel name, tab 3 is notes

I inserted duplicate lines for channels that appear multiple times as I wanted a list that allowed me to turn them all on in my favorites.
