5 Star Cases Builds Case for World's Largest Plasma Screen
Ever want a "portable" 103" diagonal plasma television?

Having pushed/pulled/lugged hundreds, if not thousands of HEAVY equipment cases in the
a/v biz, I can relate. I was always thankful for the invention of the wheel, you betcha.
BTW, Richard, how much does the image on your +100 inch display weigh?

14 pounds. :D
Trick question. Actually, a projected image weighs less than an ounce -- 0.0 oz. to
be precise!
Although it travels at the speed of light, in reality, an image projected on a screen
weighs nothing and doesn't really exist. To test that theory, just stand in front of
the screen.
The Panasonic 103 weighs 475 pounds!!!! Can you imagine a 475 pound TV?
I have the Panasonic 65" on the pedestal which weighs 225 pounds. It is
sitting on top of a glass top TV table that is 60 inches wide. The set itself is 61.5
inches wide. I am unable to slide the TV around on the glass table top to adjust
its positioning. It is just too heavy. I cannot move it. Most of the connections are in the back. It is set up where I can easily get to the back. If it was hanging
on the wall, I would not be able to get to the connections. There would have to
be a hole in the wall where I could get through. Once this TV is hung on the wall,
it is too heavy to move at all.
I also have a 61" NEC hung on the wall, but all the
connections are on the side. I can get to the connections and make changes with the NEC.

I can't do that. If I stand in front of that image and it comes at me at 186,000 miles per second that's gotta hurt. I'd have to jump out of it's way before it hit me.
My projector weighs in at 14 pounds and screen at about 25 pounds. :D

Great! One more thing for the field photogs to set up on a live shot....
"But, with HDTV, I just can't be too careful about my makeup. And, that tiny SDTV set isn't big enough for me to see from here!"
:D
"If it has a handle on it, and wheels, it's portable", famous last words.
